I wasn't sure if I was going to like Remember When or not for a good fifty or so pages. As it turns out, it was a darn good book
Before I talk about it this time, I'll give the blurb:
A thrill-ride of a novel that blends present-day romance and futuristic suspense, featuring novellas from Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb. New York City Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas comes to the aid of Laine Tavish, a woman whose past has just caught up with her—and whose answers lie in a hidden fortune that will change not only Laine’s life, but also the lives of future generations.
I'm not sure the blurb is exactly right, but to keep from giving spoilers, I won't argue with it just now.
Nora Roberts and JD Robb are the same person, one pen name writes futuristic murder mysteries, the other writes present day romances. So, Nora Roberts writes the first half of the book, a romance that happens close to our present day. And JD Robb writes the latter half, when the unsolved mystery from the first book comes front and center into Eve Dallas' domain and time.
As for the writing elements:
- The plot was exceptional.
- Pacing was mostly okay, with a few issues.
- Prose and dialogue were also exceptional.
- Character development was nice.
- World-building was consistent with previous books.
- Book Rating: Remember When: 10 of 10
