Seduction in Death was creepy. No two ways around it. But it was also funny in places - laugh out loud funny that had my husband looking at me like I'd lost my mind.
Peabody and McNabb are still at each other throats, though I hope that we may see things begin to smooth out between them in future books. Maybe. Who knows with those two, but I have hopes.
The ongoing feud between Eve and Summerset it getting a bit odd. It's obvious they both care about each other, if for no other reason than they both love Roarke and respect that about each other. I'd like to see them find some sort of middle ground, but I don't think the author is going to make that happen.
Here's the blurb:
The murder weapon: a rare, usually undetectable date-rape drug with a street value of a quarter-million dollars. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is playing and replaying the clues in her mind in order to get to the killer—before he starts hunting again.
I have to say that the blurbs for this series suck. I haven't even included a few of them in because they don't seem to describe the book at all. This one does describe the events... sort of, but not very well.
As for the writing elements:
- The plot was a good one.
- Pacing had some issues.
- Prose and dialogue were excellent.
- Character development was fine.
- World-building was consistent with previous books.
