Visions in Death had pacing issues. A lot of pacing issues. Sorry, had to get that out there first thing.
Overall it was a good book, a good story. Roarke and Eve had a lot of relationship trouble in the previous book, so it was good to see them back to being a strong unit once again.
Several bad things happen in Visions in Death. And the ending is, or rather, the chapter before the ending, is particularly morbid and gruesome. There is a bit of a surprise twist at the end, something I must admit I didn't see coming.
Here's the blurb:
On one of the city’s hottest nights, New York Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas is sent to Central Park—and into a hellish new investigation. With help from her husband, Roarke, Dallas must uncover the killer’s motivation before another vision becomes another nightmare.
As for the writing elements:
- The plot was okay.
- Pacing had issues.
- Prose and dialogue were excellent.
- Character development was fine.
- World-building was consistent with previous books.
